This is first pie I ever made, the one that got me started on a lifetime of baking pies. It’s simple, delicious and easy! I’ve made it so many times I can make it by heart.

Baker’s Notes and Tips and Tricks

For a more golden appearance, add a glaze. Make the glaze out of 1 egg, beaten, and ¼ c. milk or half and half. Spread it evenly but lightly over the crust just before baking. You can also sprinkle the top with a little sugar to add sparkle.
